Frequently Asked Questions

Entry requirements vary by course level:

  • Diploma: KCSE Mean Grade C- (Minus) or Craft Certificate
  • Certificate: KCSE Mean Grade D+ (Plus) or Artisan Certificate
  • Artisan: KCSE Mean Grade D (Plain) or Division IV

For agriculture-specific courses, we prefer students with interest and background in agriculture.

At CATIC, we emphasize practical training. The breakdown is approximately:

  • 70-80% practical hands-on training on our demonstration farm
  • 20-30% classroom instruction and theory

Students spend most of their time learning by doing on our 33-year-old Cheptebo Farm.

Yes, CATIC provides accommodation facilities for students. We have:

  • Separate hostels for male and female students
  • Secure, well-maintained accommodation
  • Cafeteria services providing balanced meals
  • Recreational facilities

Accommodation fees are separate from tuition and are payable per semester.

CATIC has three main intakes per year:

  • January Intake: Main intake for all programs
  • May Intake: For selected programs
  • September Intake: For certificate and artisan programs
